Editing Cuffs

In Cuffs the editing is very good. For example when there at the crazy man’s house they keep switching the camera from Jake to the crazy man. This shows there reactions to each other and their feelings so we don’t need to assume them.

Also at the end when they are training the scene fades and after each fade someone gives up until there are only two left. This signifies time passing by. Also at the start when they are having the meeting with the captain it keeps switching from that to Ryan on duty. This shows what policemen can expect to do when they are on duty.

  1. mark 1 out of 5
    1. Cut opening sentence (not precise)
    2. First example far too vague with insufficient detail. Don't use expressions like 'they keep switching'. State instead ' shot reverse shot shows..' You use no T (terminology)
    3. Identify the T (cross dissolve, time lapse). You should explain the context of the event. EAA needs : Jake has been invited in this scene to train with the team as he has proved his worth by saving Ryan from an attack. Up to this point, he had been treated as an outsider because he was considered privileged as the Super's son. Here, the long, hard and dedicated training session demonstrates the team's high standards. Time lapse compresses the session.
